Angelo LumelliAngelo Lumelli was born in 1943 into a family of Piedmont peasants. He emigrated to Germanyto study the language of philosophers; he worked as a teacher, served as mayor, and founded andagricultural cooperative. In 2020 he published Le poesie (Poems,Edizioni del Verri), a re-writingof the previously published: Cosa bella cosa (Thing Beautiful Thing, Guanda, 1977), awardedthe Viareggio Prize in 1978; Trattatello incostante ( Variable Treatise, Savelli, 1980); Bambinateoria (Child Theory, Corpo 10, 1990); Seelenboulevard (Niebo, 1999); Per non essere l'acquache amo (Not Being the Water I Love, La vita felice, 2008). He also published: La sposa vestita(The Dressed Bride, Arcipelago, 2006); Bianco è l'istante ( White Is the Moment, Edizioni delVerri, 2015); Verso Hölderlin e Trakl (Toward Hölderlin and Trakl, La Finestra Editrice, 2017).He translated Novalis' Hymnen an die Nacht (Hymns to the Night, Guanda, 1977); Peter Rosei'sWer war Edgar Allan?
