Andy MoralezErnesto A. Moralez, Ph.D., MPH, CHES, earned his doctorate from the University of Colorado Denver in Health and Behavioral Science and his MPH from New Mexico State University specializing in community health education. He is currently an assistant pofessor of public health at St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. His interests included the intersection of public health and clinical medicine, including working in interprofessional groups (e.g., medical anthropologists, social workers, clinical psychologists) to improve patient care and community health. His doctoral research examined the impact of chronic illness severity on depression outcomes in primary care settings among low-income, complex patients. His most recent clinical-based research focused on training family medicine residents in communication strategies to discuss chronic pain and treatment management and integrating social determinants of health into the residency curriculum. He has also served as a program evaluator for various community- and clinical-based interventions.
