Andrew S JacksonDr. Andrew "Tony" Jackson, F.A.C.S.M., is presently Professor Emeritus at the University of Houston (UH). He earned his advanced degrees from the University of Minnesota (1963) and Indiana University (1969). He was a professor at UH for 45 years and aught courses on measurement/evaluation, and research design/methods. While at UH he also held a research consultantship at the Cardio-Pulmonary Laboratory, NASA/Johnson Space Center and was an adjunct professor at Baylor College of Medicine. His focus of research was physiologicaltest validation. The focus of the research was body composition and aerobic capacity and he has published extensively on these topics. He worked in industry to develop legal and valid pre-employment tests for physically demanding jobs. Tony conducted public health research examining the influence of exercise on obesity and health. He had major research funding on these topics from the National Institute of Health (NIH). He presently works on aging research at the Udde Research Center and Rowing Club located at Onalaska, Texas.
