His artistic forays led him to oil painting at age 14, to which he has been devoted ever since. Visionary and surreal elements weave throughout ll Annenberg's work. He lived for thirty years in Maui, where he held numerous one-man and group shows. His time in Hawaii inspired him to focus on marine environments, particularly dolphins. Recently, he has been inspired by the beauty of Northern California with an emphasis on the giant oak trees with water, as well as experimenting with chalk pastels.
