Ana María PinedaDr. Ana María Pineda, R.S.M., is a member of the Institute of the Sisters of Mercy of the Americas, and a graduate of the Catholic Theological Union in Chicago (M.A.) and the Pontifical University of Salamanca, Spain (S.T.D.).Teaching on the faculty t Catholic Theological Union in Chicago, Professor Pineda also served as Director of its Hispanic Ministry Program. She is a founding member of the Hispanic Theological Initiative that supports Latino/a doctoral theological graduate studies, and is the past president of the Academy of Catholic Hispanic Theologians of the United States. In 2021, La Comunidad of Hispanic Scholars of Religion presented Dr. Pineda the Lifetime Achievement Award for her contribution to Latinx theology.
