Amy HeavenAmy Heaven is a career general aviation aircraft broker and aviator with a passion for American history and historic preservation. A native of Lake Quivira, Kansas, she returned to live in Gardner after a twenty-year stint in Lexington, Missouri wher she spearheaded multiple architectural preservation projects that received state recognition. A tireless volunteer, she served the Lexington City Council, The Lexington Preservation Commission, the Lexington Tourism Commission as well as the Lexington Historical Association. While renovating a tear-down home on Gardner Lake in 2011, she became captivated by the history of the construction of the lake. Her attempt to research the details of the project for pleasure, brought about an awareness that little had been written about the epic event that occurred during The Great American Depression. The unwritten manuscript became a bucket-list item with research beginning in 2014.
