Amiya P Sen

Amiya P. Sen, a historian by training, was nominated to the Heinrich Zimmer Chair at the South Asia Institute, Heidelberg, for the years 2014-16. He has earlier held Visiting Fellowships to the University of Oxford, IIAS (Shimla), and the NMML (Ne Delhi). He has been invited to join as Shivdasani Fellow at Oxford in 2018. Apart from Jamia Millia Islamia, where he currently teaches at the Dept. of History & Culture, Professor Sen has also served the Universities of Delhi and Visva-Bharati, Santiniketan. His interests lie in the areas of intellectual and cultural history of colonial Bengal. To date, he has authored and edited 13 books.
