Aminifu R HarveyAminifu R. Harvey, (aka) Richard H. Harvey received his bachelor's degree from St. Peter's College in Jersey City, New Jersey, his MSW from the University of Southern California and his doctoral degree from Howard University. He is the person responsble for introducing Afro-centric theory and practice to social work. He was the founder and director of MAAT Center for Human and Organizational Enhancement, probably the first Afro-centric social work family and youths agency in the country. He is a founding member of Akobea, a male and female African-centered society. Dr. Harvey has taught at Chico State University, the University of Maryland and Fayetteville State University. Dr. Harvey presently develops culturally competent intervention programs for youths and families. He is currently developing a philosophical approach to cooperative existence. Dr. Aminifu R.
