Amanda GreeneaManda Greene (1981 -2019) was an educator, artist, and social entrepreneur with a BA in humanities and an MBA in sustainable enterprise. Raised in both the United States and Brazil with Melitta as her mother, she grew up exposed to different culture. During her life, aManda was engaged in various art and permaculture youth development projects, including a community-based environmental circus in Bahia, Brazil; co-leading a group to a permaculture project in India, an after-school arts program in New Mexico, and an elementary school garden program in California. Finally, aManda turned her thesis for her MBA graduation into a dynamic, innovative program for young people when 2013 she co-founded "Youth Impact Hub Oakland", an organization for which she created a curriculum to develop the leadership and entrepreneurship of low-income youth by providing them with innovative training, collaborative co-working space, and access to networks.
