Amanda ChristiansonAmanda Christianson has been obsessed with making things since she could hold a pencil. Her love of aesthetics, expression and children led her to her current career as a public school art teacher. Amanda is a passionate advocate for social emotionallearning and believes strongly in the power of compassion. She graduated summa cum laude from Hofstra University in 2001, and completed her masters degree in Studio Art from Long Island University in 2004. Amanda has been drawing alongside her students for 21 years. Her personal work is inspired by nature and color, and draws from her exploration of coastal New York. Having grown up on a barrier beach, she is most at home beside the ocean. She is a life-long resident of New York, but enjoys wandering and experiencing diverse cultures.
