Allie HardwickAllie Hardwick is 86 years old now, but she wrote this story after it happened in 1970. She is a PK and a native Texan but has not lived there since 1953. She graduated from SMU in Dallas, Texas, in 1959 with a degree in fine arts. She went on to do raduate work in Art of the Church at Drew University in New Jersey. And her career was, wonderfully, at the Field School, a college preparatory school in Washington, D.C ., where she taught art history to grades 6 - 12 and eventually became the assistant director.
