Allen LyleAllen Lyle is an award-winning actor, writer, director, singer, and songwriter. He began acting at the age of 8, portraying Santa Claus in his school Christmas play. Apparently, the acting bug was deeply entrenched within that first "Ho-ho-ho" becaus he went on to star in numerous stage productions that ranged the gamut from drama to comedy to musicals. Additionally, he has landed roles in both local and national commercials, and he has one SAG movie under his acting belt. In his teens and early 20's, Allen's stage presence combined with his faith, and he began a regular circuit traveling to area churches performing Gospel ventriloquism. In the mid 1990's, he was tapped to be an anchor for the local NBC affiliate Morning News, spending six years in that capacity. From there, Allen co-hosted a national television show for ten years as a home improvement expert, during which time the show was nominated for an Emmy award. In a 20/20 hindsight glance at his life, Allen says he has lived more in a single lifetime than most get to in 3 or 4. In his own words, "I have wrestled a timber wolf, gone roller skating with Bill Nye the Science Guy, flown with the Blue Angels, went deep sea fishing with Hank Aaron, and got kissed by Patti LaBelle, but without hesitation I can tell you that my favorite role has been that of father and grandfather."
