He is a keen photographer, combining both interests in writing articles, initially for Buses Illustrated in the 1960s. He has had ten books published, including The Bristol KSW (with Graham Jones), Bristol Omnibus Company, 1936-1983, two editions of the South West Buses handbooks (one with the late Geoff Bruce), Coachwork by Bristol Tramways and the fully-detailed, four-volume work, The Bristol VR on Home Ground.
