Alistair BuchanAlistair Buchan was born in Glasgow, but his family moved to England, where he completed his education. He graduated in Science and his subsequent occupations varied from Agricultural Advisor, leather craftsman to gunsmith and finally acting (under adifferent name). He joined the RNVR as a Boy Sailor and spent several years in the service. From that, and possibly through some genes handed down by his Fraserburgh ancestors, he developed a keen interest in sailing. Now retired, he devotes his time to writing, gardening and golf.
