Alicia M McTavishThe late Alicia McTavish is best known for her creative and multifaceted writing skills that tell a story through her experience with diverse individuals and groups. Alicia is best known for writing books, songs, and poetry. Her writing uncovers realexperiences that are underrepresented in mainstream culture and literature. Alicia obtained a diploma as a Court and Tribunal Agent and received a degree in Social Sciences. From a very young age, Alicia knew that she loved to express herself through writing and creative expression. She spent most of her spare time expressing herself through the art of writing, knowing that one day she would publish her material to share experiences that many can identify with and others can learn from. Her first published material was featured in the York University Magazine. Alicia's dream was to publish her first children's book, and she worked diligently on this goal during her illness. Alicia passed away on April 17, 2021 before she was able to publish her very first children's book. Alicia dedicated this book to her beloved son MJ, who is the main character.
