He was previously Professor of Econometrics atthe University of Sydney and Professor of Economics at the University of British Columbia, Canada. He is a Fellow of the Econometric Society, a Fellow of the Academy of the Social Sciences of Australia and the recipient of the Distinguished Economist Award of the Economics Society of Australia.
