He has also held teaching and research positions at the Wayne Stat University School of Medicine and the Washington University School of Medicine and Department of Psychology. He is widely published in journals, primarily on diabetes and behavioral aspects of controlling weight and diabetes, and has twice won the Lifescan Diabetes Research Award from the Society of Behavioral Medicine.
