Harris has served his community in many ways-as an Easter Seal delegate, American Cance Society Board member, Easter Seal Volunteer of the Year and most recently the 2016 Sparrow Health Systems Home Hospice Volunteer of the Year. He is a Tuesday Story Writer, volunteering to help hospice patients write memoirs, letters, and poetry. Harris received the 2012 Stephen H. Tudor Award in creative writing from Wayne State University as well as the 2014 John Clare Poetry Prize and the 2015 Tompkins Poetry Award. Read More Read Less
