Abdilla NicholasHello and thank you for reading my first published novel. I hope you liked it! However, you should know it's far from my first creative work. I've been writing and drawing comics since the age of four - although admittedly my early stuff is not so grat. My dad was an artist you see, so he was a major influence and inspiration for me in first putting pencil to paper. But the thing is, I also loved to tell stories. Through these two passions I gradually became obsessed with comic books as a storytelling medium. I never took any specific classes as I grew up, instead just developing my skills through practice. Hours and hours, day after day. Both my primary and secondary schools where always very encouraging when it came to writing and drawing. I won various awards for my efforts, which was great. But my proudest moments were when my works were put into our school libraries. The positive feedback from my peers was instrumental in giving me the confidence I needed to put myself out there and to never give up. At age 15 I decided I needed a brand name for my collection of books, and Nick Ab's Comix was born. When school was over, I registered the name Nick Ab's Comix and took my work online. I spent a long time trying to build up a fan base on Myspace, and later (and still if you search for it) on Facebook. I posted content to the site weekly, and the adventures of Adam X became my largest ongoing series. Once I'd clocked up some decent numbers, I felt brave enough to try approaching other companies to see if they liked my work. I was over the moon when I got picked up by my favourite magazine, Game Informer. The fastest growing magazine in Australia at the time. I worked on a comic strip called Game Guy for them, which appeared every month for the next few years. However, when that ended, I realised I'd neglected some of my other stories. I decided I wanted to move away from comics for a while and write my first true novel. Choosing Adam X as the star of that book was an easy decision, as I had invested so much in the lore and the story. I had a full ten book narrative arc already mapped out, so there was a considerable body of work focused around Adam already in existence. It felt only natural to turn that into my first series of novels. And here we are! Book one, Adam Exitus, is out and available across the world! Thank you again for taking the time to read it. I hope you enjoyed it, and would love to hear your thoughts in the reviews on your store of purchase, and/or through social. This will be influential in how things pan out with the second book in the series, which I am busy working on right now. So until then, stay safe and be happy!
