A. C. DaytonAmos Cooper Dayton was born on 1 April, 1811 at Plainfield, New Jersey. In the Landmark movement, James Robinson Graves, Dayton, and James Madison Pendleton were referred to as "The Great Triumvirate." Dayton served as the Bible Board's correspondingsecretary for the Southern Baptist Convention from 1854 until 1858. On June 11, 1865, Dayton passed away from tuberculosis in Perry, Georgia.
