A H VanceI always wanted to write something, anything, but I could never figure out a way to sustain a story. My mind used to wander off in the middle of conversations to places where only I and my incoherent thoughts existed. I had an aching desire to put a tory on paper. Back in 2013, I had a vivid dream from whence the idea was generated and planted into my brain. I started writing around the title because that was how I had worked before that. I believe in simple storytelling. There is always a start, and a finish, and every reader should relate to the emotions expressed by the scenery and the characters. I attempted, from the first day, to model my story for everyone. The novel Man in the Grey is about a young man who is indecisive about the actions and reactions of his life. His life and its goals, like the storytelling, are simple and straight-forward. The journey through life is complex and full of grey. I hope that people who read the story like it, or at least relate to the human condition of the story. I have shied away from exposing my work to traditional publishing because in my opinion, their practices are old and do not relate to the modern methods. I decided to self-publish my story because I wanted to have this experience by myself (and hopefully escape the disappointment of getting rejected by publishing houses, haha). I appreciate everyone who has supported me and encouraged me through the two years of writing this novel. -Abdullah. Read More Read Less
