About the Author: Prof. R.P. Mahapatra is B.Tech., M.Tech. and Ph.D. He is currently working at SRM Institute of Science & Technology, NCR Campus, as Professor and Head - Computer Science & Engineering and Dean Admissions. Prof. Mahapatra has vast experience of 18 years as an academician, a researcher and an administrator. During these 18 years, he has worked in India and abroad. He has been associated with Mekelle University, Ethiopia, for more than 2 years. Four candidates have successfully completed their Ph.D. under his supervision, and 7 students are pursuing their research under his guidance. Prof. Mahapatra has authored more than 70 research papers which are published in international journals like Inderscience, Emerald, Elsevier, IEEE and Springer. He is Editor of Taylor & Francis Group; he is Reviewer of Elsevier, Springer Journals; he is a fellow member of I.E. (India), a senior member of IACSIT, Singapore, a life member of ISTE and a member of IEEE and many more reputed bodies.
Dr. B K Panigrahi is working as Professor in the Electrical Engineering Department, IIT Delhi, India. Prior to joining IIT Delhi in 2005, he has served as Faculty in Electrical Engineering Department, UCE Burla, Odisha, India, from 1992 to 2005. Dr. Panigrahi is a senior member of IEEE and Fellow of INAE, India. His research interest includes application of soft computing and evolutionary computing techniques to power system planning, operation and control. He has also worked in the field of bio-medical signal processing and image processing. He has served as the editorial board member, Associate Editor and special issue Guest Editor of different international journals. He is also associated with various international conferences in various capacities. Dr. Panigrahi has published more than 100 research papers in various international and national journals.
Dr. Brajesh Kumar Kaushik received Doctorate of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in 2007 from the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, India. He joined the Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, as Assistant Professor in December 2009; and since April 2014 he has been Associate Professor. He has served as General Chair, Technical Chair and Keynote Speaker of many reputed international and national conferences. Dr. Kaushik is a senior member of IEEE and a member of many expert committees constituted by government and non-government organizations. He is Editor of IEEE Transactions on Electron Devices; Associate Editor of IET Circuits, Devices & Systems; Editor of Microelectronics Journal, Elsevier; the editorial board member of Journal of Engineering, Design and Technology, Emerald and Circuit World, Emerald. He has received many awards and recognition from the International Biographical Center (IBC), Cambridge. His name has been listed in Marquis Who's Who in Science and Engineering(R) and Marquis Who's Who in the World(R). Dr. Kaushik has been conferred with Distinguished Lecturer award of IEEE Electron Devices Society (EDS) to offer EDS Chapters with quality lectures in his research domain. He has 12 books to his credit published by reputed publishers such as CRC Press, Springer, Artech and Elsevier. One of his books titled "Nanoscale Devices: Physics, Modeling, and Their Application," CRC Press has won 2018 Outstanding Book and Digital Product Awards in the Reference/Monograph Category from Taylor and Francis Group. His research interests are in the areas of high-speed interconnects, low-power VLSI design, memory design, carbon nanotube-based designs, organic electronics, FinFET device circuit co-design, electronic design automation (EDA), spintronics-based devices, circuits and computing, image processing, and optics & photonics-based devices.
Dr. Sudip Roy is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Roorkee, India since July, 2014. He is also an associated faculty member of the Centre of Excellence in Disaster Mitigation and Management (CoEDMM) in IIT Roorkee, India since April, 2015. He is also a Visiting Professor in Disaster Prevention Research Institute (DPRI), Kyoto University, Japan since February 2020.Earlier, during 2004-2009, he had research experiences in different intervals as a Project-Linked-Personnel (November 2004 - July 2005) at the Machine Intelligence Unit (MIU), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Kolkata, India, as a Junior Project Assistant (August 2005 - June 2008) at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur (IITKGP), India, and as a Project-Linked-Personnel (July 2008 - September 2009) at the Advanced Computing and Microelectronics Unit (ACMU), Indian Statistical Institute (ISI) Kolkata, India. Before joining with IITR in July 2014, he was a Research Associate at the Electronic Design Automation (EDA) Laboratory in the Department of Computer Science and Information Engineering (CSIE), National Cheng Kung University (NCKU), Tainan, Taiwan since February 2014.He received his BSc (Bachelor of Science) degree with honors in Physics and BTech (Bachelor of Technology) degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Calcutta, India, in 2001 and 2004, respectively. Then, he received the MS (Master of Science) by research and PhD degrees in Computer Science and Engineering from IIT Kharagpur, India in 2009 and 2014, respectively.His research interests include electronic design automation (EDA) for microfluidic lab-on-a-chips and digital VLSI (very large-scale integration) integrated circuits, modeling and simulation, optimization techniques, information and communication technologies (ICT) for disaster risk reduction (DRR). He has published 21 international peer-reviewed journal papers and 39 international peer-reviewed conference papers. He has authored one book, two book chapters and two granted US patents. He is a recipient of the Early Career Research Award from Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India in 2017, the Microsoft Research India PhD fellowship award in 2010 from Microsoft Research India Pvt. Ltd., and the national scholarship award from the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Govt. of India based on the performance in BSc Physics honors in 2001. He is a member of IEEE and ACM.
