En una de estas travesías, un temporal formidable destroza el barco y Andrea sobrevive milagrosamente, despertándose al borde de la extenuación en una isla supuestamente desierta... Pedro Menéndez es un amante apasionado del planeta y de la naturaleza. En 1987 conoce Formentera por primera vez, naciendo un idilio entre ambos. Desde entonces, no puede dejar de visitarla cada año, permaneciendo en ella largas temporadas al abrigo de sus playas y su sol mediterráneo.
