Satinath MukhopadhyayDr Mukhopadhyay has been involved in patient care, teaching and research for more than two decades. In addition to teaching MD students for their postdoc (DM) degree in Endocrinology & Metabolic disorders, he also guides research fellows and postdocsfor their translational work involving metabolic syndrome (MetS). He has been working on the role of the hepatokine fetuin-A on metabolic syndrome. He is also working on a peroxyvanadate compound that prevents the progression of MetS to T2DM by inhibiting Fetuin-A. His group was credited with the first randomized controlled trial (RCT) on the impact of vitamin D treatment on IR and progression of people with MetS to T2D, discodering a role of vitamin D in the prevention of progression of MetS.
